Email Marketing Campaigns

Email Marketing Campaigns: How They Can Help Your Business

A lot of people aren't really interested in learning about email marketing. Taking the time to really learn everything you can about email marketing can ensure you take full advantage of what it is capable of.

Grab people's attention with your subject line. When a discount or coupon is offered in the subject, the likelihood of it being open increases significantly. Get their attention by giving out free products, discounts or anything else you think they will pay attention to because they want to get in on the savings. Remember that a good subject line determines whether or not your emails will be opened.

Be sure that each person on your mailing list has granted you permission to send them emails. Don't run the risk of having your emails reported as spam or have customers unsubscribe before they even read your promotion.

It's important to set schedules for your newsletters, but you also need to stick to that schedule. Choose a day and time when you will send out your newsletters, and adhere to that schedule. An expectation is built when you follow a set plan and your customers can count on seeing their weekly newsletter right on time.

Always have a link for people to easily unsubscribe or opt out of your email list. You always want to have an unsubscribe link, and don't keep it buried someplace where people cannot see it. Ideally, your users should feel like they have control over the messages that they receive, and they should never feel forced into receiving them.

Craft compelling, efficient subject lines. Subject lines that have more than 60 characters are less likely to grab the attention of readers. If your subject is longer, put the most relevant information first.

There are few things more detrimental to a website or business than being accused of spamming, so take every precaution to protect your integrity by adding a confirmation step to your email list, opt-in procedure. By doing this, those that subscribe to your emails will automatically receive an email prompting them to confirm they signed up. The email should contain both confirm and deny links. The customer will be happy to see that extra measure of security and you will have that additional proof that your emails are not spam.

Wish your email subscribers a hearty happy birthday on the appropriate day, assuming you have collected that information. Set up things so that happy birthday messages are automatically sent to readers on their big day. You may also consider including a special discount good for a week or so after their special day.

Generally speaking, it is not a good idea to send out important marketing email messages during major holidays. People do not have time to check their emails as much since they are away from work and have limited access to their computers. There are obviously exceptions to this rule. These could include Black Friday emails or emails related to other specific events.

Now that you have read this article, you are better educated on what you need to do in order to have email marketing benefit you. Take the advice you just read to heart and you will soon achieve impressive results.
